Castle Mountain is located within Banff National Park approximately halfway between Banff and Lake Louise.  It is the eastern most mountain of the main ranges in the Bow Valley.  While looking nearly inaccessible from the Trans-Canada Highway, the peak can be ascended from the backside on the northeastern slopes with three major peaks of 9390ft, 9350ft, and 9744ft attainable with moderate effort.  the Bow River flows along the western slope providing a natural mirror for this showcase.
