Found near large bodies of open water with an abundant food supply and old-growth trees for nesting, the bald eagle is a wondrous sight to behold. It builds the largest nest of any North American bird, up to 13 ft. in depth weighing up to 1 ton! An opportunistic feeder subsisting mainly on fish which it snatches from the water with its talons.
